About "Gega New"
Gega New Ltd. is a Bulgarian music company, established in December 1992.
The company's ambition is to preserve Bulgarian musical and performing culture. GEGA NEW's catalogue includes releases of authentic and arranged folk music from various regions in Bulgaria, symphonic, chamber, opera, liturgical and choral music, a series of music by Bulgarian composers, audio cassettes and CDs of children's songs and fairy tales. A part of our releases are published in series, which popularize works and their performers, and are a treasure to posterity.
To achieve its aims, GEGA NEW works together with renowned musicologists, technical staff, artists and photographers, who have all contributed to the company's creating a varied catalogue of recordings of high artistic merits.
GEGA NEW aims at presenting the high achievements of Bulgarian performing art. The company has released recital albums of a great number of Bulgaria's prominent performers and singers.
One of the company's priorities is to record young and talented musicians and to promote their art worldwide. The long list of partners that GEGA NEW works with also includes famous performers, orchestras, conductors, and composers from all over the world.
GEGA NEW's releases are marketed throughout Bulgaria, as well as in many countries in Europe, the USA, Canada, and Japan.
The music released by GEGA NEW can be heard on numerous national radio stations, such as the Bulgarian National Radio, Classic FM Radio, RFI - Sofia, Darik Radio, Radio Plovdiv, Radio Stara Zagora, Radio Varna, Radio Blagoevgrad …
Recordings of GEGA NEW can also be heard abroad on many radio stations in the UK, Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, USA, etc.
Compact discs of the GEGA NEW label are presented and reviewed on the pages of world musical magazines and catalogues like Songlines (UK), American Record Guide, Fanfare, Classical Disc Digest, High Performance Review, Classical Pulse (USA), Repertoire des Disques Compact (France), Fono Forum, Bielefelder (Germany), Gaudeamus Information (Netherlands).
The company has been a regular participant at MIDEM, Cannes. GEGA NEW participates as well in the largest international festival for ethnic and folk music - WOMEX.
